Store Employee Robbed At Gunpoint, 1 Arrest Made

A worker at Pet Supplies Plus was robbed with what appeared to be a handgun, and was later found to be a BB replica pistol, police said.

ODENTON, MD — A worker at Pet Supplies Plus was robbed with what appeared to be a handgun, and was later found to be a BB replica pistol, Anne Arundel County police said Monday.

The robbery at the store, 137 Annapolis Road in Odenton, was reported about 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. A police news release said the suspect entered the business, pointed a handgun at the employee, and demanded money.

The employee complied and gave cash to the robber, who fled but was later spotted riding a bicycle on Annapolis Road, authorities said.

The suspect — identified as Charles A.W. Couser, 32, with no fixed address — tried to escape but was apprehended without incident. Couser was found to be in possession of an air-powered BB replica pistol, police said.
