The Long Road to a State Championship

A "before and after" look at one of Old Mill football's captains ahead of the big game Friday night.

Weighing about 201 pounds and standing 6 feet tall, Terrance Brownlee is an intimidating force. 

Usually seen marauding near the line of scrimmage, the linebacker from is preparing to fulfill his dream of winning a state championship ring this Friday as he and the Patriots take on Quince Orchard High in the 4A Maryland State Championship at M&T Bank Stadium.

Old Mill won the state championship in 2009, but Brownlee was a sophomore playing for . The linebacker transferred to Old Mill his junior year, but still laments that some of his teammates have a ring and he doesn't. That's something he hopes to remedy Friday night.

As one of the Patriots' captains, Brownlee has made the most of his senior year, leading the defense and allowing only 34 points throughout four playoff games this year. 

While running back Rob Chesson has been racking up the touchdowns, Brownlee and his fearsome team of linebackers have quietly dominated their side of the football.

Patch spoke with Brownlee during Old Mill's tryouts in August and then once again after the Patriots defeated to head to the state championship.
