The Week Ahead: Ravens, Republicans and Social Media

It looks like a busy week ahead, with the county council and school board meeting to discuss some important things. 

Also, we imagine many area residents will be taking Tuesday off to celebrate the Ravens' Super Bowl win. 

TradeNet Open House

When: Monday, 7 p.m.
Where: Gambrills General Store 
Details: Independent small business owners are invited to commiserate and learn about this new group and share some ideas.  

County Council Meeting

When: Monday, 7 p.m.
Where: 44 Calvert St., Annapolis
Details: The council no longer has to vote on whether to remove John Leopold from office, but it still is faced with a long agenda. Items including a discussion of the process to fill the vacancy after Leopold's resignation. 

Ravens Super Bowl Parade 

When: Tuesday, 10:45 a.m.
Where: City Hall, Baltimore 
Details: Celebrate the Ravens win by following the parade route from City Hall south on Commerce Street, continue to Pratt and Howard Streets, and end at M&T Bank Stadium.

Dick Ladd to Address District 32 Republicans

When: Tuesday, 7 p.m.
Where: Severn United Methodist Church
Details: The local Republicans will hear from the council member from District 5. Expect some discussion of the council's efforts to find a new county executive. 

Board of Education Meeting

When: Wednesday, 10 a.m.
Where:  2644 Riva Rd., Annapolis
Details: The school board will take up a number of issues, including a possible revision to its social media policy.
