(VIDEO) Irene Drenches Severn with Heavy Wind and Rain
Patch went out to local landmarks in Severn during the heart of the storm to capture the violent winds and rain from Hurricane Irene.
Even before 9:30 p.m. Saturday night, more than 30,000 Anne Arundel County residents were without power.
Many in Severn saw their power turn back on Sunday morning, but BGE released a statement that said more than 93,000 were still without electricity as of 8 a.m. Sunday ni the greater Baltimore area.
