Here Are Baltimore County Schools With COVID-19 Outbreaks

There are 133 outbreaks of the coronavirus in Baltimore County schools, according to the Maryland Department of Health.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — In Baltimore County, 133 outbreaks have been reported in schools in the last week.

Every Wednesday, the state health department releases a list of K-12 schools with outbreaks of COVID-19. The data does not include child care facilities or higher education institutions.

Twelve public schools and nine private schools in Baltimore County have reported outbreaks for the week ending Sept. 29, according to the Maryland Department of Health.

To be reported in the list, a school must have a classroom/cohort outbreak or a school-wide outbreak, according to the Maryland Department of Health.

A classroom/cohort outbreak is defined as at least two confirmed cases of COVID-19 within 14 days that are epidemiologically linked, and are not household contacts.

A schoolwide outbreak is defined as at least three classrooms or cohorts with cases from separate households in 14 days; or 5 percent of unrelated students, teachers or staff (at least 10 who are unrelated) having tested positive for COVID-19 within a two-week period.

Baltimore County Private Schools

  • Al-Rahmah School: 2
  • Forbush School at Hunt Valley (Sheppard Pratt): 2
  • Perry Hall Christian School: 6
  • Redeemer Classical Christian: 7
  • St. James Academy: 4
  • St. Paul's Lutheran School: 5
  • Sheppard Pratt School in Glyndon-Reisterstown: 2
  • St. Ursula Catholic School: 29
  • Talmudical Academy: 36

Schools will be removed from the list maintained by the Maryland Department of Health when 14 days have passed without any new cases or tests pending.

As of Sept. 27, officials said 230 positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Baltimore County Public Schools.
