Emu Dies After Escaping From Baltimore County Farm
The emu trekked from Baltimore to Windsor Mill to Randallstown.
BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A Baltimore County emu died Saturday after escaping a farm in Baltimore and strolling through yards in a residential area of Windsor Mill.
In a statement, police said they were alerted that the large bird had been spotted strolling around Windsor Mill around 9:47 a.m.
Officers from the Woodlawn Precinct were sent to the 3300 block of Ben Valley Road to assess the emu situation, where they found the emu had escaped from a fenced yard at Lynn's Farm and Nature Center in the 8000 block of Windsor Mill Road.

Officers followed the emu until farm employees came and caught the animal in the 8600 block of Liberty Road in Randallstown.
Police said the stress and exhaustion from the emu's day out overwhelmed it, and the animal died at the farm.
