Stanley Fishman was reelected Commander of the Jewish War Veterans post 167 for the ensuing year. According to Commander Fishman, JWV 167 has always held a special place for him. During our conversation the Commander was asked about his plans for the post in the coming year. He replied, it is my expectation that we will exceed everything we did in the past year. In August we will be hosting our summer picnic for post members and their families followed by a few fundraisers during the fall. We will begin selecting speakers for a six month speaker series. All our speakers may not speak on military topics as we would like to inform our members of happenings in the community as well. We are looking forward to our yearly Hanukkah party which benefits Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital. We will be working towards a fundraising event to honor the late Col. Erwin Burtnick, past Commander of Jewish war Veterans of Maryland, Member of Maryland State Veterans Commission and Judge Advocate of our post.
