Jump!Zone of Owing Mills Knows How to Party

Jump!Zone of Owing Mills, designed for children ages 2-12, is more than an indoor playground; it is an interactive adventure wherein imagination and energy can run wild.

Patch: Jump Zone features massive, inflatable slides, obstacle courses and bounce houses—just to name a few of the attractions. How did you guys come up with the idea for Jump!Zone?

Manning: Jump!Zone Party & Play was originally started 10 years ago to serve the needs of parents seeking a clean, safe, fun, active place for their children to play—as well as a great place to host birthday parties. The concept was an immediate "hit," and Jump!Zone has been expanding nationwide ever since. We currently have over 20 locations. Jump!Zone offers open play (walk-in, paid admission, and parents are always free), great birthday parties, group outings and more.

Patch: How did you first become involved in the party and entertainment industry?

Manning: I previously managed one of our other Jump!Zone Party & Play locations and jumped at the opportunity to be general manager of the Owings Mills location.

Patch: If you had to recommend three books, what would they be and why?

Manning: Harry Potter series, The Jungle Book and Horton Hears A Who. I love good stories that I can get swept up in.

Patch: What's a typical birthday party like at Jump Zone?

Manning: Our parties are a blast! The children love playing, climbing and jumping on our massive, themed inflatables! Our facility is over 12,000 square-feet, so there is a lot to do for the children. Then, after they are done playing, the party moves to a private party room, where our personal party coordinator helps serve food, cake and drinks. Our personal party coordinators also do all the setup and then clean up after the party.

Patch: What is your personal definition of success?

Manning: I once read that "success is the ability to do what you love every day." That quote truly hit home for me because that is how I feel about what I do here at Jump!Zone!

Patch: What's the best advice you've received for running a small business?

Manning: Great customer experience and service are paramount. Always strive for better! Myself and our Jump!Zone team strive to deliver great customer experience and service— every day. We are constantly asking our customers for feedback so that we can continually improve our level of service.

Patch: How is community important to Jump!Zone?

Manning: Jump!Zone is focused on bringing community, family and friends together in a positive, engaging and happy way. We host a variety of events, fundraisers and programs throughout the year that encourage a strong sense of community.

Patch: How does Jump!Zone distinguish itself from other fun places for kids?

Manning: Jump!Zone provides the complete experience for children and parents. Our facility is clean, fun, exciting and engaging for children ,with our massive themed inflatables that include obstacle courses, slides and bounce houses. We even have Batman and Frozen-themed inflatables! On top of all this, we also have personal party coordinators to take away any stress for the parents when hosting a birthday party. Our mantra is: "You bring the cake and guests. We do the rest!" Parents love our service level, and we make every child's birthday memorable.

Patch: What's your favorite part about autumn and winter in Maryland?

Manning: The leaves changing and the temperatures cooling down—and an occasional snow storm.
