McDonogh's Heyward-Bey Trying to Catch On In Indy

Darrius Heyward-Bey is currently injured at Indianapolis Colts camp.

Former McDonogh School star Darrius Heyward-Bey established himself in the NFL as a solid receiver with the Oakland Raiders the past four seasons. He's trying to find more success with Indianapolis.

But Heyward-Bey, who was very successful in both track and football at McDonogh, remains in a situation that's still not clear. Various media reports said that an MRI on his sprained knee were negative, and he's being listed as "day-to-day."

The Colts aren't yet sure when he'll make it back to practice and normal training camp activities, according to a report on ESPN.com.

Heyward-Bey hurt the knee during a practice on Sunday.

The Colts signed the former Maryland star in the off-season after the Raiders didn't want to bring him back. He's grown into a solid receiver, especially the last two years when he caught a total of 105 passes for nine touchdowns.
