New Town Holdup Attempt Foiled: Owings Mills Area Police Blotter

Two burglaries, two robberies, an armed carjacking and other crimes were reported in Owings Mills recently, according to police.

OWINGS MILLS, MD — Police handled two burglaries, a robbery, armed carjacking attempt and other crimes in Owings Mills and Reisterstown in the last month, according to authorities.

The following reports were provided by the Baltimore County Police Department's Franklin Precinct. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Would-be burglars left a building in the unit block of Millgate Road after realizing someone was inside. The burglary attempt was reported before 1 p.m. on June 30.

Scratch-off lottery tickets were stolen from the 9600 block of Reisterstown Road, which was burglarized around 3:40 a.m. on June 24.

Someone broke in to the unit block of Straw Hat Road, but nothing was reported stolen. The burglary was reported at 8 a.m. on June 21.

A stranger attacked someone in the 12000 block of Bonmot Place and robbed the person. The robbery occurred at 1 a.m. on June 18.

An armed robbery went awry when four people tried to rob individuals in the 4900 block of New Town Boulevard, but the victims were able to escape. The suspects had used force, including a handgun, to try to rob the victims at 1:20 p.m. on June 17. Police said the robbery suspects were arrested.

Two armed robbers tried to carjack someone in the 9700 block of Reisterstown Road around 3 a.m. on June 17.

A shed burglary attempt in the 4900 block of New Town Boulevard occurred between 8 p.m. on June 2 and 5 p.m. on June 6.
