Reisterstown Apartment Fire Causes Estimated $850,000 in Damage

The blaze damaged a total of 11 apartment units, officials said.

 

An early morning fire on Friday tore through an apartment complex in Reisterstown, causing an estimated $850,000 in damage, according to Baltimore County fire officials.

The fire at #3 Caraway Road, which ABC2 reported was at the three-story Preserve at Owings Crossing Apartment Homes, was reported shortly after 2 a.m.

“It was significant damage to the unit,” said Captain Ross Cooke, with the Baltimore County Fire Department. “The top floor was literally burned out and the underlying floors had a lot of water damage to them.”

Two people were taken to Northwest Hospital in Randallstown and treated for breathing difficulties, Cooke said. Their condition at this time is unknown.

Approximately 50 firefighters responded to the blaze that damaged a total of 11 apartment units.

It took firefighters about an hour to extinguish the fre, according to WBALTV.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
