Apartment Fire That Displaced 20 In Reisterstown Was Intentional: Officials

REISTERSTOWN, MD — One person has been charged with arson in connection with an apartment fire in Reisterstown that broke out Monday night, according to authorities. More than a dozen people were displaced, officials said, and an animal died as a result of the fire.

Jawon R. Moseley, 25, is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center in connection with the two-alarm fire, police said. Court records show he faces one count of first-degree arson and has no fixed address.

Crews responded at 8:17 p.m. to an apartment fire in the unit block of Brookebury Drive, and they called for a second alarm at 8:21 p.m. Multiple apartments were ablaze with heavy fire, according to the Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Company, which was at the scene until 10:30 p.m.

Twenty tenants were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross, officials said Tuesday.

As a result of the fire, officials said one dog died. No people were injured, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.
