Sacred Heart FallFest Offers Good Fun for a Good Cause

Sacred Heart Fall Fest aims to "encourage more personal connections with our neighbors ... ," according to a Fall Fest organizer.

Fall Fest comes to Glyndon on Sept. 28-29 as Sacred Heart offers the community a good time, to benefit an important cause.

“We at Sacred Heart want to help rekindle a greater sense of community while we welcome fall and the new school year with our First Annual Fall Fest,” said Carol Anne Donahoe, President of the Sacred Heart Home School Association and the event’s Chairperson. “Our main goal is to encourage more personal connections with our neighbors, while raising funds for families who are seeking a faith-based education at Sacred Heart and may need financial assistance.”

The Fall Fest will kick off with a 5K and Fun Run on Saturday with a 7 a.m. check-in and an 8 a.m. start. According to a news release, proceeds from the Fun Run will be donated to the “Lovely Lucy Fund” to help defray medical costs for a local family whose infant daughter was recently diagnosed with Aicardi Syndrome, an extremely rare seizure disorder affecting only girls.

Additional funds raised during the weekend will help support the Sacred Heart tuition assistance and scholarship funds.

The Fall Fest will offer a variety of games, contests and entertainment, including  a petting zoo, pony rides, hayrides and inflatables. There will be traditional carnival foods, games and offerings like the Ring Toss, Lucky Ducky, face painting, tattoos, hair design and balloon animals as well as hourly entertainment like dancing and music on the stage will showcase the community.

“It was important that we emphasize the amazing talent right in our own backyard,” said Donahoe. “We are so richly blessed right here – we knew that we needn’t look further for entertainment,” she continued.

Tickets are $10 for those 14 and over and $5 for children 2-13. Children under 2 are free. For more information and tickets, visit shgfallfest.comClick here to learn more about Aicardi Syndrome and the “Lovely Lucy Fund.”
