Tree Falls On I-695 Near Greenspring Avenue

A tree snarled traffic on the Baltimore beltway Tuesday.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A tree fell on Interstate 695 in Baltimore County Tuesday morning, shutting down much of the outer loop of the beltway. Lanes before the Greenspring Avenue exit were affected for most of the day.

Officials said the tree fell around 10:30 a.m., and crews were at the scene as of 11:30 a.m. working on the removal.

The three right lanes were closed on the outer loop of I-695 before Greenspring Avenue.

By 10:10 p.m., authorities said the beltway had reopened.
