Woodlawn Officers Bike With Elementary Students
The bike ride was part of a new outreach effort at the Woodlawn Precinct.
Officers from the Woodlawn Precinct recently rode bikes with some students from Church Lane Elementary School in Randallstown.
It is a part of a new outreach effort at the Woodlawn Precinct that seeks to get police officers and elementary school children together at lunch time for some positive interaction. “Many people only interact with police when something bad has happened and we want to change that. By reaching out to the youth in the community we hope to build positive lasting relationships” said Captain Matt Gorman, the Commanding Officer of the Woodlawn Precinct.

Last Friday students in the Church Lane Elementary School Bike Club got a surprise. Some police officers brought their bikes in and rode with the students. Everyone had a great time. Officers hope to continue visits like this at Church Lane Elementary and other schools in the future.
