BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — The first winter storm of the new year coated Baltimore County in snow on Monday. The storm rolled in before sunrise and left the area by early afternoon.

The precipitation was a fine powder without any ice. That made for a fluffy snow that piled high across the region.

Baltimore County tallied almost eight inches, the National Weather Service reported. Other portions of the county saw much less.
