MD Weather: 60-Degree Temps And Strong Winds In Mid-Week Forecast

After some snow and bitter cold at the start of the week, Maryland temperatures are about to rebound. Here's the latest weather forecast.

BALTIMORE, MD — After some snow and bitter cold on Monday, Maryland temperatures are about to jump ahead into spring with expected highs in the 60s by mid-week.

A warm front is headed toward the state that will push temperatures all the way up to 63 by Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. The weather pattern will bring with it sustained winds of 15 miles per hour and gusts up to 30 miles per hour, forecasters said.

Rain is also possible Thursday afternoon and evening, with the chance of precipitation increasing to 90 percent by the evening hours. Less than half an inch of rain is possible during the storm, according to the most recent estimates from forecasters.

The sharp contrast between warm and cold air is likely to spin up storms across the mid-section of the country on Thursday, according to the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang.

Severe weather is possible Thursday in Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, western Tennessee and Alabama, where a broad “slight risk” has been drawn by the Storm Prediction Center, the Post said.
