PERRY HALL, MD — A new family-style Italian restaurant is coming to Perry Hall.

Massoni's will be where Seasons Pizza was located before that restaurant closed in March 2020.

Charles Michael, who owns Massoni's, was most recently part of the management team at Sunset Cove in Middle River. He said that after one of the owners there died, he chose to move on.

“I have always been impressed with ... the ship that you ran at Sunset Cove," Susan Green, commissioner on the Baltimore County Liquor Board, said at the hearing on Monday where the board authorized the transfer of the liquor license to Michael.

Attorney Frank V. Boozer Jr. described Massoni's as a "family-style restaurant" that he said was "focusing on what I’m going to call … the 'Mission BBQ' model."

Continued Boozer: "They seem to cater to first responders, law enforcement, military veterans, fire department and government service workers.”

Michael said two of his investors are retired police, and that he comes from a police family.

The restaurant will be "laid back," Michael said.

The liquor board approved his request for the liquor license to be transferred from Seasons Pizza.

The Class B license will enable the restaurant to sell beer, wine and liquor.

Massoni's will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. A sign outside the restaurant, which says it is hiring, states the business will open in September.
