Mother Of NFL Player Starts Smoothie Bar

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — The mother of an NFL player is opening a smoothie shop in Baltimore County.

Lisa Harty plans to welcome customers to Enjoy a Bowl in 2022 at Greenleigh, the commercial and residential community off MD 43 near Middle River.

The menu will feature healthy items like cold-pressed juices, smoothies, acai bowls and toasts, created with fresh ingredients such as bananas, blueberries, strawberries and dragon fruit.

"Our products will appeal to anyone looking for a quick and healthy pick-me-up snack in the morning or afternoon," Harty said. "There will be nothing like Enjoy a Bowl in this section of Baltimore County so we expect to perform extremely well.”

Inspiration for the juice bar comes from her son, Deonte Harris, a wide receiver and return specialist for the New Orleans Saints.

"When Deonte started playing in New Orleans, he reported difficulty locating the same quality of acai bowls and smoothies that he enjoyed in Baltimore," Harty said in a statement. "After inventing some of my own, I flew to New Orleans to teach him how to prepare them himself and found out later that he was passing along the recipes to his teammates. The response was so favorable that I was encouraged to start a new venture – Enjoy a Bowl.”

Enjoy a Bowl will be at 11531 Wakefield Street in Greenleigh, a 1,000-acre community with housing as well as retail offerings near MD 43/White Marsh Boulevard and Bird River Road.
