Parking an Issue on The Avenue in White Marsh? Try Foursquare
Patch uncovered perhaps the best digital deal near Perry Hall for the frequent outdoor mall shopper.

Do you frequent The Avenue in White Marsh? Do you find yourself suppressing a bout of road rage when fighting for a parking space?
Patch came across a unique deal that might help.
The Avenue offers a reserved parking space to whomever is "the Mayor" of the outdoor mall on Foursquare. Before you dust off the round red rubber ball out of your garage, we're talking about Foursquare the geography-based social networking mobile app and not the elementary school game.

How does it work?
First, download the app on your smartphone (obviously). Second, if you find yourself frequenting AMC White Marsh, Don Pablo's, Chico's, or one of the other shops on The Avenue, search for them on the device and "check in." While you're at it, check in on The Avenue itself.

The more you check in, the better the chance you have at becoming the Mayor. Talk about Tammany Hall, right?
Just be forewarned, the current Mayor "Mr. Jeff O" had checked in on The Avenue 59 out of the last 60 days.
"The current Mayor is a local resident – very familiar face on the property – who frequents Starbucks, Tilted Kilt and Red Brick Station," Lisa Geiger, a marketing manager for The Avenue, wrote in an email. "There seem to be 3 or 4 people that rotate as Mayor."
The Avenue has offered the digital deal since 2011. Do you shop enough in Nottingham to unseat Jeff the incumbent?
