Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash: Baltimore County Police

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash, Baltimore County police said. The victim was 70 years old.

ESSEX, MD — A pedestrian was killed recently in an Essex hit-and-run crash, police announced this week.

Officers identified the victim as 70-year-old Ronald Lee Lefavore. Medics pronounced him dead on the scene, authorities said.

Police said the crash happened Saturday around 9:25 p.m. on northbound Maryland Route 702 at the N. Marlyn Avenue overpass.

Officers described the striking pick-up truck as a 2018 to 2021 Ford F250 or F350 Super Duty with a missing driver's side mirror and possible front-end damage.

The truck fled the scene, heading north on Route 702 toward Interstate 695, authorities said.

The Baltimore County Police Department asked anybody with information to call 410-887-5396. Callers can stay anonymous. Tipsters can also submit information through the county's iWATCH program at iwatch.baltimorecountymd.gov.

The Metro Crime Stoppers, an independent investigator, is also collecting anonymous tips and sharing them with officers. The Metro Crime Stoppers offered a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest on felony charges.
