Police Fatally Shoot Man During Dundalk Barricade: Officers

Police said they fatally shot a man during a barricade in Baltimore County. The six officers involved are on leave during an investigation.

DUNDALK, MD — Police announced Thursday morning that they fatally shot an armed man overnight in Dundalk.

The names of the decedent and the officers involved have not yet been released.

Officers said they were called Wednesday around 8:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired in the 2100 block of Larkhall Road. That's located in a residential neighborhood.

The incident was dubbed a barricade by 10:35 p.m., and residents were asked to avoid the area.

Authorities said they saw a man in the window and "responded to the actions of the armed subject."

Police said they fired their guns and hit the man, who died at the scene.

Six officers shot their guns, a press release said. All of the officers were wearing body cameras, and each officer is on administrative leave during the review per departmental policy.

Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown's Independent Investigations Division will investigate the shooting, as it does with all police-involved deaths.

Nobody else was hurt in the shooting.

Authorities announced the end of the barricade at 2:05 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators said they recovered a firearm from the scene.
