The hope is that most people will not have to encounter an emergency responder in their lives, although accidents do happen. In the heat of the moment, questions swirl while emotions run high.
White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company president Kevin Palmer will address the Perry Hall Improvement Association Thursday evening on a range of topics include volunteer opportunities and emergency response preparedness.

Palmer will touch on what to expect when you call 911, how to be prepared for the questions that follow, the Move Over Law, smoke detectors, CO detectors and compiling an emergency preparedness kit for your home.
He said he also toyed with the idea of offering a few tips for grill safety, considering Maryland just skipped spring and jumped right into summer.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Perry Hall Library. Non-association members are welcome to attend the presentation. Stick with Patch for a recap of the meeting Friday.
