12 Cecil College student-athletes named to NJCAA All-Academic Teams

Cecil College was well represented on the 2023-24 National Junior College Athletic Association All-Academic Team.

NORTH EAST, Md: Cecil College is proud to announce that 12 student-athletes were named 2023-24 National Junior College Athletic Association All-Academic Team honorees, as announced by the NJCAA earlier this month.

Sophomores Lily Landis, Skylar Klingler, Nora Watkins, and Ryan Thompson are recipients for a second time. Landis, an Elkton, Maryland native, earned the distinction of being on the NJCAA All-Academic First Team both years. Eight additional Seahawks join them as first-time honorees.

Baseball, men's soccer, and volleyball each had three student-athletes. Softball came in just behind them with two, while men's basketball claimed one.

Student-athletes can earn academic honors by achieving an overall GPA of 3.60 or higher for the 2023-24 academic year. The NJCAA All-Academic list consists of three teams: First Team (4.00 GPA), Second Team (3.80 to 3.99 GPA), and Third Team (3.60 to 3.79 GPA). In total, 12,245 student-athletes garnered NJCAA All-Academic recognition this year.

NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: Ben Campbell (Baseball), Jaiden Guy (Men's Basketball), Skylar Klingler (Volleyball), and Nora Watkins (Volleyball)

NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: Aidan Hayes (Men's Soccer), Ronaldo King (Men's Soccer), Jhaydin Ledford (Softball), Matt Murdock (Baseball), Nathan Ramsden (Men's Soccer), and Ryan Thompson (Baseball)
