Elkton, MD: County Executive Danielle Hornberger is pleased to announce the appointment of the Comprehensive Plan Review Committee members.  The Committee will review the 2010 Comprehensive Plan, evaluate its implementation since adoption, and, if necessary, recommend changes or updates to the County Executive. They will be assisted by the Department of Land Use and Development Services (DLUDS), the Department of Public Works (DPW), and other Cecil County Government staff, such as the GIS coordinator.

 

“This diverse group of volunteers will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Committee, and I thank them for their willingness to serve Cecil County as they carry out this important task”, stated County Executive Danielle Hornberger.

 

The individuals selected for the committee are:

  • Chris Brown
  • Jennifer Callaghan
  • Amy DiPietro
  • Sandra Edwards
  • Charles Hicks
  • Vincent Sammons
  • Clay Stubbs
  • Perry Willis

 

The County’s Comprehensive Plan serves as the policy guide and framework for growth, development, and preservation in Cecil County. It examines land use, water resources, transportation, public facilities, economic development, housing, environment, and natural resources.  The 2010 Comprehensive Plan horizons in 2030 and, in concurrence with State law, must be reviewed every ten years.

 

All amendments to the Comprehensive Plan must be introduced by the County Executive, reviewed by the Planning Commission, and approved by the County Council.

 

The Committee will meet throughout the Fall of 2021 and its members are anticipated to provide a report of their recommendations to the County Executive by December 2021.
