
Joanne Marie Benjamin Stebbins of Bakerton, WV, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson.
Born in Riverdale, Md., on Jan. 8, 1944, she was the daughter of the late James I. Benjamin Sr. and Mary E. Benjamin.
She is survived by her husband, George B. Stebbins Jr.; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Stebbins; brothers, James Benjamin Jr., John Benjamin and wife, Marie, Joseph Benjamin and wife, Celia, and Jeremiah Benjamin and wife, Bev; sisters, Jean Ridley and husband, Michael, Joyce Reedy, Janice Vitiello; and granddaughter, Samantha Spanos.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Judy T. Salazar.
She was an administrative assistant at The Catholic University of America and later deputy clerk of Special Proceedings, D.C. Superior Court.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 106 S. Duke St., Shepherdstown, with the Rev. T. Mathew Rowgh officiating.
Interment will be in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Harpers Ferry.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at the church, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at St. Agnes Catholic Church, P.O. Box 1603, Shepherdstown, WV 25443; or St. Vincent Pallotti High School Scholarship Fund, 113 St. Mary's Place, Laurel, MD 20707.
