New Officer Joins Riverdale Park Police Force

Riverdale’s finest welcomed a new officer into the fold earlier this month.

Ofc. Tom Brannan, most recently of the Pikesville Police Department, was sworn in as an officer of the Riverdale Park Police Department in early April.

Brannan has been working in law enforcement for 20 years, with the last ten spent in his current career phase. Prior to his short stint with the Pikesville police, Brannan was with the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.

Working in Riverdale Park appealed to Brannan because he said the department seems well organize, and there’s a lot going on in the town.

“I like to be a little busy and I like criminal investigation, and they allow their offices to carry a case further,” Brannan said.

Brannan aspires to one day be a detective. He lives in Sykesville and has a 12-year-old daughter named Cassie.
