Now Hiring in Riverdale: Sheridan Street Community Garden

The garden is looking to fill a position that will allow for the garden's expansion.

University of Maryland Extension is hiring an AmeriCorps VISTA member as a Community Garden Coordinator to facilitate the expansion of the Sheridan Street Community Garden in Riverdale, according to UME coordinator Christie Balch.

This is a year long position, beginning in July 2014. According to the job posting:

The Community Garden Coordinator, with a coalition of community partners, will facilitate the creation of an intergenerational training ground for small-scale, intensive, sustainable agriculture. Working with a dynamic team of project leaders, the VISTA will transform an abandoned parcel of land into a garden bursting with nutritious vegetables grown by refugee families, middle school students, and other neighborhood residents.
