Prince George's County Police have identified the victim of as Maritza Alfaro-Abarca, 32, of Riverdale. On Aug. 24 at around 8:30 p.m., officers were called to the 5600 block of Kennedy Street in Riverdale to conduct a welfare check. When they arrived, police reportedly found Alfaro-Abarca with a stab wound. She was pronounced dead on the scene. Investigators are still working to determine a suspect and motive in the killing. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the department's Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Solvers at 1-866-411 TIPS (8477), text "PGPD plus your message" to CRIMES (274637) on a cell phone, or <a href="http://www.princegeorgescountymd.gov/police/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">submit a tip online</a>.
