Wednesday evening marks another opportunity for neighbors of the proposed <a href="http://www.pgplanning.org/Assets/Planning/Programs+and+Projects/Community+Plans/PurpleLineTod/Nov_15_Presentation.pdf" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Riverdale Road/Beacon Heights Purple Line station</a> to weigh in on the project. Representatives from the Prince George's County Planning Department will be on hand at  (6929 Furman Pkwy.) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. to discuss the future of transit-oriented development along the Purple line corridor and in the Riverdale Road area specifically. The Beacon Heights station is one of three stops along <a href="http://www.purplelinemd.com/images/stories/purpleline_documents/lpa/purple_line_lpa_map_2010-04-14.pdf" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">the 16-mile light rail</a> located in the Riverdale area. Two others—one at Kenilworth Avenue, the other at the University of Maryland's M Square Research Park—fall in Riverdale Park proper. Wednesday's event is advertised as a visioning community workshop. Participants will help "define a vision and give input on each station's identity, streetscape, architectural character, uses, and amenities," according to the department.
