ROCKVILLE, MD — A Rockville woman is $50,000 richer after her nagging husband and a broken vehicle helped her to find the winning numbers in the Dec. 17 Pick 5 drawing from the Maryland Lottery.

The woman told lottery officials that she'd filled out the repair claim form for a mechanic to repair a broken vehicle and her husband kept asking her when she was going to get the car fixed.

Tired of hearing her husband's nagging, the woman noticed that the claim form had a five-digit number. She decided to use those numbers on the Pick 5 ticket she bought at the Maryland Live Casino located at 7002 Arundel Mills in Hanover.

Later, when the Rockville resident was riding in her sister's car, she used her phone to see if she'd won. That's when she learned that the five numbers on her $1 ticket matched all the numbers in the Dec. 17 drawing. She let out a big scream, which she thought may have frightened her sister.

The woman has no definite plans for the $50,000 she won, except spending it on her family. In the meantime, the car remained unfixed. Since it was her husband's nagging that led to her filling out the claim form, the woman joked that she might just buy a new car instead.
