All Federal Offices In DC Region On Modified Schedule Tuesday: OPM
Office of Personnel Management has updated the operating status for federal employees in the D.C. area for Tuesday.

WASHINGTON, DC — With a winter storm warning in effect for much of the Washington, D.C. region, all federal offices will be closed on Tuesday. Maximum telework is in effect, according to the Office of Personnel Management.
Unless otherwise directed by their agencies, emergency employees are expected to report to their worksite on Tuesday.
Federal employees who work remotely or telework are generally not eligible for weather or safety leave, so all telework employees and remote workers are expected to work on Tuesday.

Generally, non-telework employees will be able to take weather or safety leave for the hours they were scheduled to work. However, federal employees who are traveling or are on an alternative work schedule day or or other non-workday schedule will not be granted weather and safety leave, according to OPM.
Employees who are on pre-approved paid or unpaid leave or other time off generally should continue to be charged leave or other paid time off and should not receive weather or safety leave.

Does OPM issue operating status announcements for agencies located outside of the Washington, DC area?
No. Employees working in Federal agency offices located outside of the “Washington Capital Beltway” must follow the operating status announcements issued by their agency.
