Cafe Rio Mexican Grill will celebrate its grand opening with a $2,500 donation to the Montgomery County School District.
ROCKVILLE, MD — A new Mexican restaurant specializing in made-from-scratch food is opening in Rockville next week.
Cafe Rio Mexican Grill will open at 10062 Darnestown Rd. on Wednesday, June 27.
The restaurant will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a $2,500 donation to the Montgomery County School District.

The first 300 people in attendance will score a free meal and beverage.
"Every restaurant adheres to a strict 'no freezer and no microwave' policy, and Cafe Rio’s extensive cooking processes, including rolling freshly made dough for each tortilla; squeezing over a thousand limes a day; and cooking secret sauces for hours, are the restaurant’s distinguishing characteristics," a statement from the business states.

The menu is inspired by traditional Mexican cooking found in the Rio Grande region of Northern Mexico, Southern Texas and New Mexico.
Over the years, the chain has won hundreds of awards, including the title “#1 Mexican restaurant in the Nation” by Sandelman & Associates for eight consecutive years. FastCasual.com recently selected Cafe Rio Mexican Grill as one of the top brands in its annual list of Top 100 Movers and Shakers.
