Chesapeake Bay Bridge Wind Restrictions In Effect: Traffic In MD, DC

On The Road

As of 7:24 a.m., the left lane of westbound US-50 on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge is blocked by debris, according to WTOP Traffic. [Chesapeake Bay Bridge, MD]

As of 7:20 a.m., a crash was reported on eastbound I-70 before the South Mountain Rest Area, with the left lane getting by, according to WTOP Traffic. [Mount Lena, MD]

As of 7:11 a.m., both northbound-traffic lanes and the left shoulder are closed on MD-151 North between Sparrows Point and Wharf Road in Sparrows Point, according to MDOT. [Sparrows Point, MD]

As of 7:10 a.m., the westbound-right shoulder, westbound-right traffic lane, eastbound-right traffic lane, and right shoulder of MD-501 from Sargent Road to 15th Avenue are closed, according to MDOT. [Chillum, MD]

As of 7:09 a.m., the southbound-left shoulder and left traffic lane of MD-210 South from the Capital Beltway to Palmer Road are closed, according to MDOT. [Oxon Hill, MD]

As of 7:01 a.m., the westbound-right shoulder of MD-140 West between Reese Road and Old Baltimore Road is closed, according to MDOT. [Carrollton, MD]

As of 6:57 a.m., wind restrictions are in effect on US-50 in both directions on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, according to WTOP Traffic. House trailers, empty box trailers, or any vehicle that can't safely cross the bridge will be prohibited from crossing the bridge. [Chesapeake Bay Bridge, MD]

As of 6:51 a.m., the southbound-left shoulder and left traffic lane of MD-355 South is closed from Grosvenor Lane to Alta Vista Road, according to MDOT. [Bethesda, MD]

Ongoing Closures:

Westbound-right off-ramp from MD-725 West at John Rogers Boulevard is closed due to roadwork, according to MDOT. [Upper Marlboro, MD]

The northbound-left shoulder of I-95 North is closed from Weigh Station Access Road to Cherry Hill Road, according to MDOT. [Adelphi, MD]

Eastbound shoulder, traffic lane and center turn lane of MD-648 East between Kuethe Road and Governor Ritchie Highway are closed due to a utility problem, according to MDOT. [Glen Burnie, MD]

DC Weather

Sunny skies are forecast for Friday in the Baltimore-Washington region with a high of 67 degrees and a low of 44, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday in will be mostly sunny and breezy, with a high of 66 and a low of 45, according to the AccuWeather forecast. Skies over Rockville were clear around 7:38 a.m., with a temperature of 52 degrees.
