ROCKVILLE, MD — With the last of the Thanksgiving leftovers finished, many Marylanders are beginning their holiday preparations. There are county-wide and town events designed to help residents celebrate.

One of the top attractions is the Montgomery County Police Department's Santa motorcycle ride, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, Dec. 8. Santa and his elves will start off at the District Police Station located at 20000 Aircraft Drive in Germantown at 3 p.m. before making their way to Route 355 and traveling south on Route 355 to The Children's Inn located in Bethesda.

The ride is designed to benefit the The Children’s Inn at NIH. MCP is asking for donations to the Inn.

"All donations raised from this event will help support operational expenses as well as programs for the entire family," said MCP in a news release. "These services include recreational, therapeutic, wellness, and educational programming. Each is designed to build community and wellbeing among families and to provide everyone an opportunity to meet and make friends with others going through similar experiences.
