City Crime Report: Thieves Lift Knitting Needles, Cast-Iron Sewer Pipes

Arrests
1000 block of Rockville Pike—45-year-old male was arrested on charges of 2nd degree assault stemming from an incident April 7 at 10:43 p.m.

Incidents
400 block of Barnside Place—Delivery packages containing knitting needles were removed from a front porch on March 27 between 2 and 3 p.m.

1700 block of Rockville Pike—Police said one person distracted an employee while another person took a designer purse from an unsecured display case on March 29, between 3 and 5 p.m.
200 block of Congressional Lane—A GPS and an in-dash radio were taken from a vehicle between 7:30 p.m., March 30, and 8:18 a.m., April 1.
1200 block of West Montgomery Avenue—A speaker subwoofer and a GPS were taken from a vehicle between 11 p.m., March 30, and 12:45 p.m., March 31.
Unit block of Maryland Avenue—Two handguns were taken from an apartment on April 1, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Vandegrift and Atlantic Avenues—Cast iron sewer pipes were taken on April 2, between 10:29 and 10:37 p.m.
300 block of Hungerford Drive—A wallet was taken from unsecured back in a break room on April 4, between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Police described the perpetrator as a black female with brown, medium-length hair last seen wearing an orange shirt, black jacket and a black purse.
