You said it | Councilman: Mayor Marcuccio’s actions don’t match her words
Monday, Rockville City Council unanimously approved two appointments to the Rockville Planning Commission—but only after a good deal of conflict. Councilman Mark Pierzchala had this to say about Mayor Phyllis Marcuccio’s decision not to re-appoint Kate Ostell to the Planning Commission:

Several years ago, when she was a councilmember and Susan Hoffmann was Mayor, Marcuccio insisted that the Mayor consult councilmembers when considering appointments. During her term as Mayor, she has consistently refused to do so. Four councilmembers expressed the opinion that Kate Ostell continue on the Planning Commission. The Mayor should have paid attention to that request.

Police | New red light camera installed
The City of Rockville posted its 10th red light camera at Wootton and Preserve parkways. The grace period for tickets ends Aug. 26.
