County Sees Second Triple-Digit Rise In Cases In Less Than A Week
For the second time in less than a week, Montgomery County has seen a triple-digit rise in COVID-19 cases.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County has recorded a triple-digit increase in coronavirus cases for the second time in less than a week.
On Friday, health officials reported 107 new infections, pushing the countywide total to 22,185 cases. The last triple-digit rise — 120 — was on Sept. 19.
The death toll rose by one to 802. The latest fatality count does not include the 40 others whose deaths were linked to the virus, but never confirmed by a lab test. For now, they are considered "probable deaths."

Both Montgomery and Prince George's counties have the highest number of deaths in the state.
Montgomery has the second highest number of confirmed cases, after Prince George's County, which has 28,995, according to the latest figures.

Statewide, there have been 122,359 cases, 3,772 confirmed deaths, and 145 "probable deaths." Of the 344 people currently being hospitalized, 79 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
