Deadline To Request Mail-In Ballot In Montgomery Co. Is Oct. 20

Montgomery County residents: Tuesday, Oct. 20 is the last day to request a mail-in ballot for the 2020 presidential election.

ROCKVILLE, MD — The deadline to request a mail-in ballot in Maryland for the 2020 presidential election is Tuesday, Oct. 20.

Election officials can mail or fax your ballot to you, or you can download your ballot from the state's website. If you want to download your ballot, don't forget to list your email address.

Designating another person to pick up your mail-in ballot

Yes, someone else can do it for you. That person will be responsible for returning your completed mail-in ballot application to the Montgomery County Board of Elections, picking up your ballot, and delivering it to you.

For this to happen, you and your agent (the person picking up your ballot) will need to complete the Mail-in Ballot: Designation of Agent Form (Papeleta de Votante Ausente: Formulario para Designar un Representante). The form can also be obtained from the county's elections board.

Dropping off your mail-in ballot

Ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 3). Mailed ballots must be received by the local board of elections by 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 13.
