Heat Advisory Issued In Montgomery County Wednesday

It's going to be hot out there! It'll feel like 100-105 degrees in Montgomery County Wednesday, forecasters said.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Another Heat Advisory is in effect for Montgomery County Wednesday, The National Weather Service announced.

Temperatures are expected to reach the mid- to upper-90s with a heat index between 100-105 degrees.

The advisory is in effect from 12-8 p.m. Wednesday. Montgomery County officials have also issued a hyperthermia alert.

The county says taking these precautionary measures can help you avoid heat injuries:

  • Stay hydrated (drink plenty of water, avoid caffeine and alcohol).
  • Stay indoors in an air-conditioned place whenever possible.
  • Avoid strenuous activities outdoors.
  • If you're outdoors, wear sunscreen and light-colored, thin clothing.
  • Never leave pets, kids or the elderly in a parked car without air conditioning.
  • Pets tethered outside must have access to shade, shelter, and plenty of fresh water.
