Last BuyBuy Baby Store In MD Closing Feb. 25
BuyBuy Baby will close the last Maryland location in Rockville on Feb. 25. The chain is shuttering all its stores nationwide.

ROCKVILLE, MD — As BuyBuy Baby closes all of its stores nationwide, the only store the chain has in Maryland, will close Tuesday, Feb. 25. The last BuyBuy Baby store in the state is at 1683 Rockville Pike.
The MoCo Show reported that the Rockville location was the first BuyBuy Baby store to open in the state.
An employee told the website Monday that the store was initially supposed to close permanently by the end of 2024, but remained longer.

The retailer announced its store closings in late October 2024.
“With this shift, we’ve come to the difficult decision of closing our physical stores by the end of this year,” the company said in a statement on its website. “We understand this may be disappointing news, and we want all our customers to know this wasn’t a choice we took lightly.”

The company said it will keep its popular baby registries on its website, where the use of gift cards will also be managed.
BuyBuy Baby once had about 120 brick-and-mortar stores. The attempt to resurrect BuyBuy Baby only lasted about 12 months. In bankruptcy proceedings last year, former parent Bed Bath & Beyond sold BuyBuy Baby’s intellectual property and trademark rights for $15.5 million to New Jersey-based Dream On Me Industries.
