1 Killed, 1 Critically Injured In Crash Between Car And Tractor-Trailer: MoCo Police

POOLESVILLE, MD — A man died Wednesday when the car he was driving collided with a tractor-trailer in Montgomery County.

Police said the crash happened shortly before 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Darnestown and Cattail Roads. The collision involved a red and black Kenworth tractor-trailer and a gray 2016 Ford Fusion, authorities said.

The driver of the Fusion was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not release the man's name pending notification of family.

A passenger in the Fusion was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer remained at the crash scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

Darnestown Road is fully closed at Cattail Road while the Montgomery County police investigate the collision.
