Man Waving Handgun Arrested In Rockville, Police Say

Rockville City Police issued a shelter in place for residents in the area of a man seen waving a handgun Tuesday, a news release says.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A Rockville man was arrested after a homeowner called police and said she saw a man with a gun in her backyard, Rockville City Police said in a news release.

Officers went to the 100 block of Rose Petal Way, where the homeowner said she saw the man, at around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. They saw a man matching the description the homeowner gave waving a gun on the 100 block of Autumn Wind Way, a news release says.

Officers said they determined the man was Kunal Bagga, 37, who lives on Autumn Wind Way and came out of his home after a brief exchange with police. After police saw Bagga on Autumn Wind Way they issued a shelter in place for nearby residents.

Bagga was arrested and charged with three counts of first- and second-degree assault, the news release says.
