Masks Optional At Montgomery College, With Some Exceptions
Masks will still be required in classrooms, shuttles, laboratories, and some other places, Montgomery College said.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Masking will be optional on Montgomery College's campus beginning March 28, with the exceptions of classroom settings — including labs, learning centers, and other instructional spaces — as well as on shuttles and in the Montgomery College Center for Early Education.
"Combined with the high rate of fully vaccinated faculty, staff, and students, this shift to optional mask wearing is made with confidence," said President Jermaine F. Williams in a letter dated March 24. "It is our hope that these positive trends continue and support further relaxing of enhanced COVID-19 safety protocols."
Employees can request that visitors to their own offices or workspaces wear masks, said Williams.

"Students, faculty, and staff have lived through the past two years with courage, creativity, and grace as you embraced new health protocols and adapted to new ways of learning, teaching, and working," said the Montgomery College president in the letter. "Health and safety decisions throughout the pandemic have been and will remain guided by science as well as local, state, and national health agencies."
