BETHESDA, MD — A fire at the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Station in Bethesda was reported extinguished around 1:26 p.m., on Thursday, according Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.

Red Line trains were single tracking and Metro Buses were running at the station.

Fire units responded around 1 p.m., for the report of a fire on the tracks just north of the station platform, which is located at 10501 Rockville Pike.

Firefighters extinguished the small fire at an interceptor connection on the tracks. Power was controlled and no injuries were reported, according to MCFRS.

Montgomery County fire personnel remained on the scene to assist the WMATA Emergency Response Team. Little or no smoke was reported.
