MOCO Teachers Union Endorses Marc Elrich For County Executive
Elrich said he's honored to receive the MOCO teachers union endorsement. "As a former teacher, I appreciate the work teachers do," he said.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — The Montgomery County Education Association has thrown its support behind Marc Elrich in the county executive race.
"I’m honored to receive the endorsement of MCEA. As a former teacher, I appreciate the work teachers do – I know their job and how hard it is and I can only imagine the increased difficulties they have dealt with under Covid," said Elrich in a statement. "Our teachers are educating our next generation, and despite the multiple challenges, they are doing it with skill, dedication, and enthusiasm."
Elrich, who is up for his second term as county executive, is running against former County Council President Tom Hucker, council member Hans Riemer, businessman David Blair and CEO Peter James.
