MoCo's Vaccine Website Offers More Info On Priority Groups
Montgomery County has launched a new website that shows residents where they land on the priority list of who gets the COVID-19 vaccine.
ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County officials have launched a new website that shows residents where they fit on the priority list of who gets the COVID-19 vaccine.
During a media briefing last week, Chief Health Officer Dr. Travis Gayles said the website provides more detailed information about the county's vaccine priority groups — and allows residents to sign up for text or email notifications on how many doses have been administered to date.
The website does not let people register to get a vaccine.

"To be clear this is not a link to sign up to receive the vaccine specifically, but it's an informational link," Dr. Earl Stoddard, the county's head of emergency management, said. "So our intention is on a weekly basis to be able to say this is how many doses we gave out to these particular groups in the past week, and here's what we're expecting to be able to service next week."
There is no set timeline for when the county will move from one phase to another. Officials say progress depends on the vaccine deliveries they receive from both state and federal governments.

"We don't control the supply. That supply is allocated to us from the state," County Executive Marc Elrich said. "The state doesn't control their supply because their supply is getting allocated to them from the federal government. So all of us, we're kind of in this waiting line to make sure or to see what doses we're going to get."
The county is currently administering shots to people in Phase 1A.
