Montgomery Adds 76 New Coronavirus Cases, Zero Deaths: Sept. 24
Montgomery County now has 22,078 coronavirus cases and 801 deaths.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County added 76 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, pushing the local total to 22,078.
Zero new deaths were recorded overnight, according to state data. The countywide death toll remains at 801.
There have been 40 "probable deaths" in the county — or deaths likely caused by COVID-19 but never confirmed by a lab test. They'll be added to the official fatality count once health officials receive confirmation.

Montgomery County, which is home to roughly 1.1 million people, continues to have the highest number of deaths in the state. It also has the second highest number of confirmed cases, after Prince George's County, which has 28,887, according to the latest figures.
Statewide, there have been 121,800 cases, 3,765 confirmed deaths, and 144 "probable deaths." Of the 349 people currently being hospitalized, 81 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
