Montgomery County Primary Election: Candidates, Polling Places
The 2018 primary is underway with the start of early voting in Montgomery County and across Maryland.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — As the 2018 primary election approaches on June 26, we have links to check on your voter registration, your polling place and more. Go to the Montgomery County Board of Elections website to find your voter info; polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on election day.

Maryland Governor
- Democrat: Rushern Baker III, Ralph Jaffe, Ben Jealous, James Hugh Jones II, Rich Madaleno, Alec Ross, Jim Shea, Krish O'Mara Vignarajah. (The late Kevin Kamenetz will be on the ballot and his lieutenant governor pick, Valerie Ervin, pulled out of the race just before the start of early voting.)
- Republican: Larry Hogan (unopposed)

Emergency Absentee Ballots Available:
Montgomery County voters who missed the deadlines to vote by mail or online for the Gubernatorial Primary Election may still pick up an absentee ballot in person.
If you are unable to vote during Early Voting (June 14 - 21), or at your assigned polling place on Election Day (June 26), you may visit the Board of Elections in Gaithersburg at any time, during normal business hours, up to or on Election Day.
The elections office will be open:
- from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
- on Saturday, June 23, the office is open for voting from noon to 4:00 p.m.
- on Sunday, June 24, the office is open from noon to 4:00 p.m.
- on Election Day, June 26, we will be open from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The elections office is located at 18753 N. Frederick Avenue, Suite 210, Gaithersburg, which is about one and one-half miles north of Montgomery Village Avenue.
Voters who cannot come in person to the office may designate another person as their agent to obtain the application. For information on designating an agent, please contact the Absentee Office. Voters may choose to download an application online or the Maryland State Board of Elections’ website.

The Montgomery County Board of Elections wishes to remind voters that impersonating another voter or casting a ballot on behalf of another person is a crime. If you see or hear of any attempted vote fraud, contact the State Attorney’s Office at 410-576-6300 or 1-888-743-0023 toll free in Maryland or via TDD at 410-576-6372.
