No New Coronavirus Deaths Reported In County; Cases Hit 14,471
Montgomery County hasn't had zero coronavirus deaths since early April, data shows.
ROCKVILLE, MD — For the first time since early April, Montgomery County saw no new coronavirus deaths.
The state's most populous jurisdiction reported its first coronavirus-related death on March 21. Daily deaths peaked at 30 on April 27 — according to the county's coronavirus data — and has consistently been in the single digits since June 6.
As of Friday, the death toll remains at 691. That figure, however, doesn't include the 39 others whose deaths were linked to the virus, but never confirmed by a lab test. They are considered "probable deaths."

Montgomery County — which entered Phase Two of its recovery plan last week — continues to have the highest number of deaths in the state. It also has the second highest number of confirmed cases, after Prince George's County, which has 18,307, according to the latest figures.
In Montgomery County, the number of positive infections amounts to 14,471. That's an increase of 90 cases overnight.

Statewide, there are 66,115 known coronavirus cases and 3,015 deaths. The probable death toll now stands at 127.
Of the 487 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19, 190 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
